Painting, collaging, printing, using paper and textiles and all kinds of media, my subjects are generally drawn from the natural world. I love colour, shape and texture. My work can be small or large, bright or subtle, simple or complex, decorative, abstract or semi-representational.
My first exhibition – ‘Following the Feather’ – was held in 1999 and was accepted for, though not in the end shown at, Winchester Cathedral. I held my first Art Sale in the autumn of 2004 from my studio at Kimberley. The success of the Sale encouraged me to participate in Norfolk Open Studios and this has also resulted in invitations to participate in several local art shows - it is rare that I do not sell anything!
My work has ranged widely (for a glimpse of this range you can find images here) but, having had to take some time out of the studio, I am now concentrating on my painting. I shall again be taking part in Norfolk Open Studios in May 2008: please see details here.
As well as original works of art, I sell high quality prints of selected work. These can be viewed either on my Gallery page or by visiting the Studio in person - please contact me to arrange a time. As well as original, handmade cards, I also sell prints of several paintings and photographs as cards. These have proved popular in commercial outlets and to Studio visitors. You can see images of these cards here.
My dream is to make affordable art for the home and workplace so that people’s environment is made more human and creative. To this end also, my husband and I have created an informal garden - full of flowers and herbs and butterflies and bees and birds - as the setting for the welcome and nurture we would like to offer to others. My blue studio is set in the midst of this garden.
I can always be contacted to arrange a time to meet, whether to show my latest projects or share ideas.
